:: Madelaine Donohue

 

Madelaine has been a fitness and yoga instructor in the Hudson Valley for the past 30 years. She has studied and practiced yoga with talented teachers at Ananda Ashram, Kripalu, The New Age Center in Nyack, NY and the Open Center in New York City. She was trained in chair yoga at the Open Center in New York City under the guidance of Lakshmi Voelker.

She believes her yoga practice makes her more connected to herself and others and keeps her in harmony with life. Her yoga practice brings much healing and joy to her life. Madelaine feels the benefits and transformation physically, emotionally and spiritually.  She adores sharing her knowledge, passion and love for yoga and life with everyone on the journey.

Madelaine has been a vital part of our Wellness Springs family and a beloved teacher at our studio since 2008.

 :: Laura Lamica

Yoga has been a guiding force through Laura’s life since 2004. Since that time, Yoga has become much more for her than a form of exercise or a way to relax, but a way of finding peace in her body, mind and heart in the face of life’s challenges. Learning to tap into the body’s intuition through yoga has transformed many aspects of her life for the better, including mental health, physical health, spirituality, and relationships.

Since she completed her teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 2015, she has had the joy of sharing all the benefits of yoga with her students, no matter what their physical ability or level of experience.

Laura believes that because the vital part of a yoga practice is breathing and meditation, there is truly a yoga path for everyone.  In everything she does, Laura seeks to cultivate a spirit of gentleness, gratitude, and acceptance.

Andrea Bruno is a 200 hr RYT, and completed her training at Sol Full Yoga in Monroe, NY.  She has a background in nursing and knows the importance of connecting the mind, body and spirit.  Her yoga teaching journey began as a way to deepen her practice and then she discovered a true love of teaching.  She is a wife and mother of 2 young sons.

Andrea teaches a creative Vinyasa style yoga linking breathe with movement, welcoming all levels of practice.  She is honored and thankful to share what she has learned.

:: Dennis Rocks

Dennis was first drawn to Yoga to improve flexibility, balance and overall wellness, as well as to complement a recreational lifestyle. The more he practiced the more Dennis began to experience deeper awareness and became more interested in linking breath with movement.

In his classes, Dennis shares his experience and guides his students on a journey of self discovery that explores how to deepen awareness, relax the body using the breath and improve flexibility.

Dennis’s classes are open to all levels and are geared to the beginner, the inflexible and those not always comfortable with Yoga.  He creates a fun and safe environment that encourages self awareness and listening to your body’s feedback.

:: Sandra Wells

Sandra Wells has over twenty years of experience as an educator, facilitator and coach. She earned her undergraduate degree from NYU and graduated with an M.A. in Psychology from Vermont College. Currently, she is in her tenth year of the Yogi Self-Mastery Program at the Elite Yoga Academy and recently completed the Practicum in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and taught by senior staff from The Center for Mindfulness in Massachusetts. Admission to this program is strictly limited to practitioners with extensive professional experience and a solid meditation practice. Sandra has an active private practice serving individuals, couples and organizations. Her work is also informed by training with Otto Scharmer, Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks, Natalie Goldberg, Thich Nhat Hanh, Ronald Jue and the Appreciative Inquiry community. She is known for her passion to learn and to serve and offers mindful practices that support personal responsibility, relational harmony, inner balance and well being. :: Maria Perri

Dr. Maria Perri, a chiropractor since 1984, is a life long student of Yoga and  mind/body medicine.   She was first exposed to Yoga at age 19 and is still inspired by her first teacher “Lovey” who at 69 and 50 years her senior was stronger, more balanced, and deeply joyful.  Yoga and a connection to Kripalu has influenced her life and patient care ever since. Meditation is so mis-understood – it is not about “stopping your thoughts” – that is just not possible!   It is simply a way to become more fully present – to come home to your breath, your senses and this present moment.  It is a way to work through chronic limiting patterns and to free your capacity to create real happiness and compassion.   My goal is to create a community of people that realize they can move beyond “survival” into consciously creating a better life for themselves and a healthier more positive world community.”

:: Beth Stewart

Beth Stewart is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and has been conducting classes, workshops and private sessions in the Hudson Valley since 1999. In addition, she is also certified in the Anat Baniel Method for Children, work based on the Feldenkrais Method.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and worked for many years in the field of human services.  She is also a practicing martial artist and currently holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt in Nihon Goshin Aikido.
